CVC Direct Celebrates

IT’S OUR 20TH BIRTHDAY!
Back on 9th December 2000 was the day it all began and 20 years later we are still going strong. It’s been quite a journey and there has been some amazing changes along the way. 20 years ago car leasing was still something very new but 20 years have made an incredible difference and is now the preferred way to fund a new car or van for 3 out of 4 people in Northern Ireland with no sign of this ever changing.

20 years from now we probably won’t have petrol or diesel cars and everything will be powered by electric so more incredible change is to follow for the next generation.

Some interesting facts from the day we opened in 2000:
The average house price in Northern Ireland was £65.462, that would be £102,775 today, 17% lower than today’s average price.
The average salary in Northern Ireland was £16,545, that would be £25,976 in today’s money, 5% less that today’s average salary.
The average cost of a new car in Northern Ireland was £12,780, which would be £20, 065 in today’s money, 5% less than today’s average price.
The price of a litre of fuel was £0.86, in today’s money that is £1.34, some 29% higher than today’s price – so don’t grumble about fuel costs today as in 2000 they were actually higher in real terms than today!
And finally, the average price of a local grocery shop in 2000 was £10.14 which is £15.92 in today’s money, 17% higher than it is today*
So, it’s not all that bad!

We’d like to thank all of the thousands of customers over the last 20 years for their support and trust in CVC, it’s impossible to do what we do without you. Many of you are now regarded more than customers and have become great friends of CVC, your loyalty doesn’t go unnoticed and is SO MUCH appreciated.

As another year begins we wish all of our customers, suppliers and social media followers a peaceful and safe New Year.
