FACELIFT TOYOTA YARIS NOW ON SALE

FACELIFT TOYOTA YARIS NOW ON SALE

Toyota’s facelifted Yaris is now on sale, priced from £10,995 and set to arrive in August.

The facelifted Toyota Yaris has gone on sale for upwards of £10,995 ahead of hitting showrooms this August. Prices rise to £17,695 for the range-topping Yaris Excel Hybrid. There\‘s new specification levels, improved tech and more equipment options, all of which is designed to broaden the Yaris supermini’s appeal “to a more diverse customer base” according to Toyota.

Available in three- or five-door body styles, the Yaris range kicks off with Active and Icon trims. However, the old Icon Plus and Trend versions make way for new Sport and flagship Excel models.

Standard kit across the Yaris range includes electric front windows, a six-speaker sound system including USB and AUX connectivity, and entry-level Active spec (£10,995 – £11,595) also adds Vehicle Stability Control, tyre pressure monitors and traction control.

For mid-range Icon (£12,745 – £16,195) and above, the Japanese manufacturer has added a leather trim multifunction steering wheel, air-conditioning and the latest Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system. This next-gen touch screen multimedia tech features a new, higher resolution seven-inch display and comes with Bluetooth, a rear view camera, vehicle information and in-car management controls.

DAB radio that can automatically switch to FM reception when necessary is included in this, too, and Toyota Touch 2 is also MirrorLink-ready, allowing users to connect compatible smartphones for use via the car’s interactive display. Sat nav and further travel aids can also be fitted as an optional extra (£650), with this system likewise available on Sport and Excel.

Opting for Icon adds 15-inch alloys, front fog lamps and projector headlights as well, plus body colour-matched door mirrors and handles.

Building on this, Sport spec (£14,995 – £15,995) upgrades the wheels to 16-inch machined alloys, and there are LED daytime running and rear lights to help this trim level stand out, a look completed by privacy glass, a spoiler and rear disc brakes.

At the top of the range is Excel (£15,695 – £17,695), again based on Icon but boosted by silver 16-inch alloys, LED daytime running and rear lights, cruise and climate control, along with rain-sensing wipers and dusk-sensing headlights.

Optional extras come in the form of Toyota’s fixed Skyview panoramic roof (£550), plus Style (£500), Protection (£700), Smart (£450) and Appearance (£750) packs.

The Design Pack, available only with Icon variants, adds LED daytime running lights, rear light clusters and privacy glass, while Style (for Icon and Sport) fits aluminium scuff and bumper protection plates, as well as chrome detailing. Meanwhile, the Protection Pack, offered on all but the basic Active models, fits mudflaps, rear bumper protection, parking sensors and carpet mats.

Appearance is limited to Excel spec, and introduces a rear spoiler, privacy glass, and the panoramic roof, while the similarly exclusive Smart Pack offers Smart Entry, a start/stop button and auto-folding wing mirrors.

In terms of engine choice, the current line-up passes over unchanged, including the 1.0- and 1.33-litre petrol units, 1.4-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol hybrid. This 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid powertrain is now only available in Icon and Excel trim, the only difference being both specs gain climate control and the Smart Pack’s push-button start for no added cost.

The new Toyota Yaris is available in ten exterior colours, including new Island Blue metallic and, for hybrids only, Avantgarde Bronze.
