This is the SEAT Leon X-PERIENCE. Based on the standard Leon ST, it’s fitted with permanent all-wheel drive and stands 15mm higher than the basic model to give it an advantage off-road.
To mark it out from the rest of the Leon ST lineup, SEAT has added robust body cladding on the door sills and wheel arches as well as an aluminium finish to the front bumper. The rear end also now features chrome exhaust pipes, with 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels also available.
Inside, the X-PERIENCE has been trimmed with unique orange detailing and can be specced with optional leather or Alcantara upholstery. The X-PERIENCE model remains as practical as any other Leon ST, with a 587 litre boot, which rises to 1,470 litres when the rear seats are folded.
The latest addition to the Leon range is offered with a variety of TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines. The most powerful is the 182bhp 2.0-litre diesel, coupled with a DSG transmission as standard. Economy is claimed at 55.3mpg and CO2 emissions at 133g/km. A more frugal 148bhp version of the same engine is also available, but only with a six-speed manual gearbox. SEAT claims economy at 57.6mpg and 126g/km of CO2.
All models come fitted as standard with stop-start and energy recuperation systems to help boost economy. Prices have yet to be announced but the Leon X-PERIENCE will arrive in showrooms in the autumn
